Hello dear participants!
As you probably know, when you book a hotel room, a deposit is generally required to guarantee against possible damage. This year, we are asking you to select one participant per room who will provide their credit card upon arrival January 2nd, 2010. To facilitate this process, we have put in place the following arrival and check-in procedure:
Three modes of arrival are possible: bus, plane and car. The check-in at the hotel is at 15:00, but some exceptions can be tolerated (arrivals by air only).
BUS
When your bus arrives at the hotel according to the schedule determined by the Committee (see below) a member of our committee will make a brief appearance in your bus explaining the following steps:
1) Team leaders and participants providing credit card numbers should come to the front of the bus and head towards the check-in to proceed with room registration;
o Credit card registration (in case of potential damage)
o Review of hotel regulations
o Room Cards
2) During this time, participants enrolled in hockey and deck hockey may leave their hockey bags in a room specifically designated for this purpose throughout the event. This room will be locked.
3) The participants will then head to the Monet Ballroom on the 1st floor. They will make their official entry to the Law Games 2010.
o Taking Attendance
o Signature of the disclaimers
o Issue bracelet
o Goodies distributed
4) Credit card holders will join their delegation in the Monet Ballroom to proceed to their official registration!
5) After completing registration, participants will proceed to their room.
PLANES
For those arriving by plane, please be aware that there are unfortunately no Law Games shuttles that will ensure a link between the airport and hotel. However, a shuttle service "Groupe La Québécoise" is priced at $16 per person, and connects the airport to Central Station which is located just meters from the hotel (at the corner of Maisonneuve and Berri). You will find all necessary information and schedule here.
Otherwise, taxi services (car and truck) are also available (about $ 35 airport Grand Plaza) at any time.
Like others, we ask you to respect your time of arrival at the time, arriving together (as a delegation) and proceeding according to the regulations and official registration procedure.
CAR/TRANSIT
For those arriving by car / transit (surrounding universities - UQÀM, UdeM and McGill), we ask you to follow the schedule that you will be assigned to arrive together to carry out your official registration and send credit card holders to the hotel check-in for registration.
PARKING
Here is the relevant information concerning parking at the hotel:
o 90 places available
o Maximum height: 6 feet (underground parking)
Price:
o $16/day if you use the valet service from the hotel. The entry and exists are unlimited.
o $12/day if you park your car by yourself. You must pay every time you enter the parking lot.
ARRIVAL TIME OF UNIVERSITIES
Here is the schedule of arrival of the participating universities. This schedule is non negotiable. Be prepared! Exceptions will be granted for participants arriving by PLANE ONLY. The rooms will not be ready before 15:00 (scheduled time for check-in usual in hotels). Please kindly respect the time of arrival to facilitate the registration of participants and avoid congestion at the entrance of the hotel.
